Robert Daniel Costello

Robert Daniel Costello, 69, of LaGrange, Ohio, passed away on January 1, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born to Raymond Thomas and Edith Jane (nee Jones) Costello on January 27, 1956, in Youngstown, Ohio.
He was a beloved, son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be remembered by his wife: Diane Carol Costello (nee Snider); his four children: Holly Marie Costello, Ryan Daniel Costello (spouse Caleb Stagner), Sean Francis Costello (spouse Daniel Meier), and Erin Carol Costello (spouse Andrew Niezgoda); his five grandchildren: Logen Blair, Lilie Blair, Trinity Mullins, Owen Weimer and Raven Niezgoda and his great grandson Zyair Wilson. He is also survived by his mother, Edith Jane Costello Yannetti and his siblings: Thomas Costello, Mary Steed (spouse Jack Steed), John Costello (spouse Barb Costello) and Patty Turnbo (spouse Bryan Turnbo); his nephews Cory Turnbo and Cameron Turnbo. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond, his mother's second husband John Yannitti, and his grandson (Carter Weimer).
Robert enjoyed the simple things in life, like fishing, gardening, cook-outs with the family, shooting fireworks, and cutting wood for the woodburner to heat his home. He loved to decorate for Halloween and Christmas, and family time throughout the years centered around the firepit and being outdoors as much as possible.
He was a mechanical draftsman for over 30 years, and his hobby was creating things with wood.
Robert will be forever remembered and cherished as a kind, gentle soul, who spoke with few words, but whose actions showed his passion for life and his family.
Please join the family to celebrate Robert's life on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Carlson Funeral Home, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, OH 44256, for a visitation from 10:00am-12:00pm and a continued visitation from 2:00pm-4:00pm, after a break for food and fellowship. A funeral service will follow immediately at 4:00pm.
