Robert "Bob" Leon Creps passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the age of 82 years, at his home, after a long illness.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Fairfax Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.
Bob was born in Nowata, OK, on October 30, 1942, to his Mom, Beatrise Ella "Pierce" Creps, and to his Dad, Leon Austin Creps. He also had an older sister: Joann Creps. Later on, the family moved to Little Chief, OK, and also around Fairfax, OK. Bob attended the school in Fairfax, and he did a lot of odd jobs around Little Chief and other places also. His Dad mostly worked as a pumper in the local oil fields, and his mom ran a beauty shop in Fairfax. Bob married Carol Ann Ross on August 16, 1967, and they soon moved to Arkansas City, KS, as Bob had gotten some "good leads" on some jobs hiring up here. After 30 years together, they divorced but always stayed best friends. Carol was his chosen caregiver for several years and up to the day he passed away.
Bob's family are all deceased now, except for one niece, Cynthia Breshears and her family, whom Bob enjoyed visiting with before he became very ill. Bob had many jobs during his life and was a hard worker. Bob loved nature, the old cabin that he and his friends built and shared next to the Little Chief creek, and also loved his family, fishing, hunting, archery, playing in pool tournaments with friends at Ark City, and also loved to do wood carving, making arrow heads and also made a beautiful dulcimer from scratch for our musically inclined daughter Christina Amber Creps, also deceased. His headstone is next to hers, and I know that they are now together again forever! He was a good man and will always be missed and remembered.
