Stephen Creps Obituary
ELIDA -- Stephen Roy Creps, 75, of Elida, passed away at 1:15 AM on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at his residence.
He was born on December 28, 1948 in Lima to Paul E. and Edith M. (Staver) Creps, who both preceded him in death. On June 12, 1975, he married Karen A. VonBodegon, who preceded him in death on June 20, 2001.
Stephen graduated from Allen East High School and then received his Associate's Degree from The Ohio State University, Lima Branch, where he played basketball for them. He joined his father as the owner/operator of Creps Insurance Agency and worked there for over 50 years, retiring in 2024. He was an avid golfer, having won the Super Seniors Flight of the Lima City Golf Championships, the most recent in 2021. He enjoyed boating, antique cars, and jet skiing. He was very active with his graduating class from Allen East and planned many class reunions. He also enjoyed coaching youth sports, having coached many of his children's sports teams.
Surviving are his sons Stephen Paul (Cursty Drake) Creps of Lima and Joshua J. Sirch of Lima; his daughter Jessica L. (William) Mumpower of Jacksonville, FL; his grandchildren Jenna (Charley) Reis, Lea Stoner, Taylor Creps, Riley Creps and William Creps; his sister-in-law Linda Creps of Lima; his uncle Ronald (Mary Ellen) Staver of Lima.
He was preceded in death by his brother Barry Creps.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel, with Pastor Mark Bayliff officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society or CHP Home Care & Hospice.

Steve was my dear friend for over 50 years.
He was honest, considerate and a loving man of faith.

I am shocked to see my classmate´s name, the first on the list of obituaries! I had not seen Steve, since our 50th Class Reunion in 2017!! He was a great guy. You have my sympathy, and I pray you feel The Comforter, during this time of sorrow.
