Kathleen Frances Creps

Kathleen Frances Creps, aged 89, a beacon of gentle love and thoughtful kindness, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2024, in Haslett, Michigan. Born on August 16, 1935, in McBain, Michigan, to Laurence and Mildred (Trueblood) Cavanagh, Katy grew up in a nurturing family, which laid the foundation for the caring individual she would become.
After graduating from McBain High School in 1952, Katy began her career at the bank in Cadillac and later worked for 30 years with the Michigan State Police in Financial Management. She supported her family and her husband as he was going through Barber School.
Katy's marriage to her husband of 68 years, Raymond Creps, now deceased, was a partnership that blossomed into a loving family. She was a devoted mother to her son, Daniel Creps, and daughter, Shery (David) Nelson. Her role as a grandmother was one she cherished profoundly, doting on her grandchildren, Becka (Brad) Davis, Corey (Arielle) Creps, and Caedan Creps, and great-grandchildren, Blake and Luke Davis.
Her siblings, Betty Reinink, Bob, and Donald Cavanagh, preceded her in death, but she is fondly remembered by her brother, Larry (Gail) Cavanagh. Katy's life was woven through with her passions for sewing, reading, watching Judge Judy, popcorn, and crossword puzzles. Ray and Katy were members of Haslett Community Church and then Bath United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held at Haslett Community Church on Thursday, October 3 from 10:00am-10:30am. The Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation at 10:30am with Pastor Betsy Aho presiding. Interment will take place at Riverside Township Cemetery in McBain, MI following the service.
Katy lived for her family, especially her grandchildren, and her legacy is one of unconditional love and selfless care. Her departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her memory will continue to inspire and guide us. Kathleen Frances Creps will be profoundly missed, yet her loving spirit and sense of humor will remain with us always.
