Robert Daniel Currence, 66, of Morgantown, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at his home.
Robert was born on August 27, 1959, a son of the late Robert and Roberta Currence. He was a proud graduate of Morgantown High School, Class of 1977, and later earned his degree from Pittsburgh Technical Institute in 1987. Robert was also a member of Chestnut Ridge Church.
Known for his kind spirit and love of family, Robert enjoyed gardening, photography, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid WVU fan and took great pride in his roles as a father, grandfather, and brother.
He is survived by his two sons, Robert Zachary Currence and his wife, Emily of Jamestown, NC and Daniel Jay (DJ) Currence; his grandson, Robert Quinten Currence; sister, Pamela Riffle Currence; and his nephew and niece, Jason Riffle and Ashley Riffle. Robert was also eagerly awaiting the birth of a new grandson, expected in November.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 1:00–3:00 PM and 5:00–7:00 PM.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Elkins Memorial Gardens, 75 Elkins Memorial Gardens Hwy, Elkins, WV 26241.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
