Dear Jeanne,
As the National President of the Italian American War Veterans National Ladies Auxiliary, I want to send our sincerest condolences on the passing of Bob. Please accept my apologies for this late acknowledgement - I only found out recently.
Bob worked tirelessly for veterans. As a local, department and national officer, Bob´s dedication to the Italian American War Veterans was exceptional. Most noteworthy is Bob´s work with the VAVS -inspirational and unparalleled.
We share in your loss and hope that you know our prayers are with you during this time. May I share the prayer we say when we drape the National Charter: "God, we ask you to hear us as we gather to pay our respect to Robert Dardano. He entered into the service of his country as a sign of his willingness to love You and his neighbor. Bless Bob and his family, fill us with the hope of eternal peace. We ask this of You who lives forever and ever." Amen
God bless,
Alice Crosetto, National President

I was so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was truly a dedicated and respected leader of the veterans community. I worked with Bob for many years in connection with Veterans Day and Memorial Day activities and the renovation of the Community War Memorial. While we didn't always agree, it was an honor to work with him and I thoroughly respected his dedication, honesty and integrity. My sincerest condolences to his family and the entire Veterans community who will miss him greatly.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Robert (Bob) Dardano. While I only knew him for a short while, we did have some conversations about military service and veteran affairs. He was a proud American and a real down to earth human being. He will be missed by all. May he rest in peace and may his memory be a blessing. Joe Carfagno - Syracuse, NY (a friend of his sister in law, Fran Malley).
