Robert Eugene Dasher, 89, passed away on September 9, 2023, at Glenvue Health and Rehab under the care of Bethany Hospice after an extended illness.   Eugene was born in Glennville, GA to Dan and Gladys Dasher on April 26, 1934.   After graduating high school in Tattnall County, he attended college and began work at C&S bank in Atlanta, GA.  Nevertheless, he was a Glennville-boy at heart and returned home the first chance he could. Upon his return, he began a 64 year-long career with Armstrong’s Cricket Farm where he left a long legacy of hard work, dedication, and ingenuity as he helped design and build systems to streamline cricket production and distribution for the company.   Eugene actively worked at the cricket farm until he was 86.  He was also a partner in Dasher Brother’s Farms, a family business which included the farming of hogs and Glennville Sweet Onions as well as owning and running Dasher Brother’s Feed and Seed.   Eugene was a member of and served in the Georgia National Guard.  He loved yard work, a good fried fish, and playing Set Back with anyone he could find.  He always worked hard and believed everyone should work hard along with him, but most of all he just loved his family well.

Eugene is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Stanfield Dasher, and his parents, Daniel James Dasher and Gladys Spivey Dasher.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ulma Lee Anderson, and brothers Julian Dasher, Charles Dasher, and James Eddy Dasher, and one step-son, Brian Armstrong.   Eugene is survived by , Barbara Strickland Dasher, his wife of 29 years, sons Greg Dasher, Gary (Melanie) Dasher, Glen (LeeAnne) Dasher, step-daughter Susan (Simmie) Driggers, grandchildren Rachel Thomas, Mandy Dasher, Daniel Dasher, Laura (Anderson) Ernst, Josh (Leslie) Braun, Steven (Christy) Dasher, Simmie (Melanie) Driggers, Cortney (Miles) Lockley, Emma Dasher, Ethan Dasher, Jacob Dasher, and great grandchildren Gracyn Dasher, Drew and Kate Ernst, Ruby and Bobby Dasher, Lilly Kate and Lyla Braun, Henry Driggers, and Adley Lockley.  He is also survived by siblings Linda Brannen and Wayne (Julie) Dasher, sisters-in-law Louise Dasher, Mary Kate Dasher, and Margie Dasher as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to all of those that provided Eugene’s medical care and helped both us and Eugene over the course of his illness:  Eva Gonzalez, Rose Brewton, Robert West, Barbara Wiltrout, David Byrd, the late Connie Bowen, Allen (Tucky) Mott, Trina Nall and the ladies at Bethany Hospice, the nurses and staff of Glenvue Health and Rehab, and countless family members and friends.  We can never thank you enough for the loving care that you have shown to our Dad during this time!

Visitation will be held at Brannen Family Funeral Services on September 12, 2023, from 9:30-11 am, immediately followed by the service, also at the Brannen Family Funeral Services Chapel, at 11:00 AM, with Dr.  Rick Cason officiating.  The burial will be at the Glennville City Cemetery.  Pall Bearers will be Eugene’s grandsons:   Daniel Dasher, Josh Braun, Steven Dasher, Simmie Driggers, Ethan Dasher and Jacob Dasher.
