Bobby was born in Chapmansboro and grew up in the Ashland City Area. He graduated from Cheatham County Central High School in 1953. He then went to work at Acme Boot Company and worked there from 1954 till 1981. He then worked at various companies in Nashville till his retirement in 1999. His hobbies were reading and in later years watching TV. Family was everything to him and he loved talking to them and spending time with them. He often said that family was his reason for being.
