Robert Edward Dech II

Robert "Bob" Edward Dech II, 67, of Dublin, Ohio, unexpectedly passed away in Columbus, Ohio on Friday, December 22, 2023. While he grew up in Richfield, Ohio, Bob lived in Dublin for the past 23 years.
Bob was a loving spouse, parent, grandparent, son, and brother. He was very charismatic, loved a good laugh, and will be deeply missed. Bob exuded a generous spirit, extending warm invitations that transformed his home into a haven for family and friends, where many were embraced for extended periods with genial hospitality. He was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also worked in the construction industry for over 50 years, was passionate about his work, and served as a mentor to many.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Wellman; his father, Robert Dech; his stepfather, Jim Wellman; and his stepmother, Mavis Dech; his father-in-law, Daniel Sielski; and his brothers; Mitchell Wellman, John Dech, and David Dech.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Dech; his children Damian Dech (Nikki), Katherine Morton (Aaron), Robert D. Dech (Lindy), and Hannah Dech (Josh Watts); his grandchildren, Jalen Manu, Patience Dech, Kristopher Manu, Kaydence Dech, Tristen Dech, Lincoln Morton, Lily Dech, Freyja Morton, Iris Morton, Emily Dech, Luna Dech, and Luca Morton; his mother-in-law, Rita Sielski; his siblings Dana Dech, Terri Wellman, and Daniel Wellman (Kim); and close family friend, Natasha Wilson.
A viewing will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell located at 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell, Ohio 43065, followed by a funeral service to celebrate Bob's life at 7 PM. The burial will be private.
