Mr. Robert Lewis Deutscher

Mr. Robert Lewis Deutscher passed away on March 20, 2025 at Cumberland Rehab & Health Center in Bridgeport, Alabama.
Bob, as he was known, was born to Henry and Clara (Essling) Deutscher in Michigan City, In, who preceded him in death. On July 8, 1961, he married Carol Parsons in Chesterton, In. Carol preceded him in death on March 30, 2013.
He is survived by daughters, Shirley (Irvin, deceased) Kanode, Grand Junction, Colorado, and Barbara Jo (Chuck) Edson, Fackler, Alabama. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew Wyse, Brett Robert (Jenny) Wyse, and Jennifer (Mordicai) Knode; great grandchildren, Brett Michael Wyse, Carley Wyse (Dakota Sword), Mason Wyse, and Antigone Knode; great great grandchildren, Ella Sword and Charlotte Sword.
He was also preceded in death by, sisters, Mildred Iseminger, Vera Fox; brothers, Wilbur, Howard, Paul, John, Henry (Hank), and Ronald Deutscher.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Larry (Vicki) Deutscher and their son, Larry (Lori) Deutscher Jr. who would visit him in his later years to celebrate his birthday.
Bob was a hard-working man who grew up in the depression era, working a team of horses plowing his father's fields as a very young child. He joined the Army in 1956 and served in Alaska. He went on to become a well-known and sought-after brick-mason in the Laporte County, Indiana area where he and Carol also had a 40- acre orchard. In 1974, they purchased the property on Crow Mountain, located in Jackson County, Alabama, where they cleared the land and planted the trees which have become Crow Mountain Orchard, one of the states largest.
Bob will be interred next to Carol in Austell Cemetery, which is adjacent to the orchard, where together they can watch the trees produce the fruits of their labor.
The Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Austell Cemetery.
