George Edward Deutscher, 72, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, passed away on September 19, 2024 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN.
George was born on July 5, 1952 in La Porte, IN, to Paul and Lucille (Reuille) Deutscher.
On July 6, 1974 in La Porte, IN, he married Donna Metts who survives. Also surviving are his children, Matthew (Alicia) Deutscher of Rolling Prairie, Christopher (Angela) Deutscher of North Liberty and Julie (Brian) Blosser of Rolling Prairie; grandchildren, Rachel (Ben Johnson) Deutscher, Clayton (Alyssa Bennitt) Deutscher, Calina, Camryn, Emma, and Chloe Deutscher, Addasyn and Elliana Blosser; brother, Larry (Vickie) Deutscher of Fort Meyers, FL; sisters, Patricia Williams of La Porte and Loretta (James) Oliver of New Carlisle; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
George was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of North Liberty Christian Church. George was a 50 year 4-H leader and served as Swine Committee Superintendent for many years. He was a 50 year Becks Hybrid's Seed dealer.
George enjoyed spending winters in Florida with his wife. He loved to fish especially on his deep sea trips. Most of all, he loved spending time with family, particularly his grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. (EST) on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at North Liberty Christian Church. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. (EST) on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 and from 10 a.m. (EST) until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church.
