Steffany Lyn Hobby, 53, of Rolling Prairie, IN, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025.
Steffany was born on September 14, 1971, in Milwaukee, WI, to Donald and Darlene (Meyer) Peters.
On April 20, 2019, in Nashville, IN, she married the love of her life, Steven, who survives. Steffany's greatest joy was being a mother to her two daughters, Summer (Samuel) Effa of Buchanan, MI, and Carly Segar of Grand Rapids, MI, who were the center of her world. She also embraced and deeply loved her stepdaughters, Montana (Jake) Milzarek and Emma Hobby, both of La Porte, and cherished her role as "grandma" to her step-grandson, Maverick Milzarek. She is further survived by her loving parents, Don and Darlene Peters of Valparaiso; her sister and best friend, Dee (Allen) Lindahl of Valparaiso; and nieces and nephews who adored her.
Steffany was an incredible mother and a gifted artist, sharing her beautifully painted creations through her Etsy shop. She loved spending time in nature, riding motorcycles, thrifting for treasures, and surrounding herself with animals-especially her dogs and the many cats she "collected" over the years. Steffany lived a vibrant, colorful life, always finding beauty and joy in the world around her.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Steffany's Life will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Pastor Jeff Zigler officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather for visitation beginning at 10 a.m., leading up to the service.
