Robert Dickenson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 17, 2023.
Robert E. Dickenson (Mr. D, Bob), age 82, of Pataskala, Ohio died on Thursday June 15, 2023.
Born April 18, 1941 in Blacklick to the late John E. and Jean J. (Allen) Dickenson.
He attended The Ohio State University, Ashland University and Warren Wilson College and earned his doctorate in Music. He was a teacher for many years at Watkins Middle School and retired in 1988. He was an avid fan of OSU and loved to watch the football and basketball games with his friend Mary. He had a deep love of music, dogs and God.
His love of music began when he learned to play the piano as a young boy. When he was 13, he began to play the piano for worship at the Blacklick Presbyterian church where he had been baptized. While a member at Blacklick he was ordained to the office of Elder and Deacon. Later in life he joined the Outville Presbyterian Church in Pataskala and became an active member serving as the organist and choir director for 10 years.
He is survived by his beloved dog Abby and siblings, John E. Dickenson Jr. (Penny), Marty Adams (Steve) and Janice Woods as well as numerous nieces and nephews as well as his dear friend Mary Ramey.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 PM on Friday June 30, 2023 at Outville Presbyterian Church, located at 6463 Outville Road SW in Pataskala, Ohio.
To honor Bob's deep love for all dogs we ask in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to Licking County Humane Society https://lchspets.org/#donate
