Born in Tacoma, WA, Bob enjoyed a childhood of adventures and mischief for which he carried through his life.
Raised with three siblings that preceded him in death, Donald, Barbara, and Richard, Bob packed his life full of family and friends, travels, and adventures. Many many adventures.
Starting his working life as an apprentice painter, Bob made a life for himself and soon with his young family, two daughters and a son, and he quickly moved up the ladder of leadership within the painters Union.
A brief stint in the US Army, for which he was incredibly proud to serve, Bob returned home and was honorably discharged.
Bob soon settled back into work and was elected as a business agent for the Painters District Council #5. This position soon escalated him to the job he would retire from, The Executive Secretary of the Washington State Building and Construction Trades Council.
Bob retired in 2000 and spent a well earned after work life continuing his adventures and mischief, and doing what he loved. Spending time with Donna, his spouse of 39 years, enjoying his family and always spoiling grandkids and great grandkids. Feeding the birds to a level unattainable to most (if you know, you know). He brought food home from every outing, EVERY OUTING, to put out for birds, squirrels, and whatever else showed up. Fishing, hunting, giving money to the casinos around the area. Mushroom hunting, sharing time with numerous friends and family. And of course painting, painting, painting. This never stopped and he was always ready to paint. Up to the days prior to his passing, he painted. As he would say when he met you, "I'm a painter, you know."
Bob achieved so many milestones both personally and professionally. Among those was being appointed by the Governor, to the original Public Stadium Authority Board that was the entity behind the building of the new world class stadium for both NFL/Seahawks and MLS/Sounders teams. Currently known as Lumen Field. Bob is enshrined on a plaque there at the entrance.
As we, his family and friends, mourn his passing. We also share the journey that he took us all on. What a ride. A treasured husband, father, son, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather, Bob committed to all those roles fully and left memories with everyone, usually something hysterical.
Bob is survived by his spouse Donna, his beloved daughter Cherie, step daughter Tobie, step son Travis, Grandsons Danny, Ryan and Zach, Grand daughters Maria, Amanda, and Raymee, and Great Grandkids Easton, Charlie, Oliver, Sterling, Finn, Michael, and Leila.
Bob was preceded in passing by Son Bobby, Daugher Michelle. Siblings Donald, Barbara, and Richard. Parents Donald and Lilian.
