Robert Allen Dillon, Sr., 55, of Anna, formerly of Johnston City, passed away unexpectedly, at 12:15 p.m., Sunday, August 17, 2025, from the result of a motorcycle accident.

Robert was born on March 18, 1970, in Cleveland, Ohio to Murl Taylor. He was a 1988 graduate of Johnston City High School and continued his education, earning his associate's degree in business and construction. Robert was a man of many trades. He was self employed and ran his own construction company, along with owning many rental properties around the southern Illinois area.

Robert lived his comeback story for the past 30 years. He was an example of hard work and dedication that he passed down to all his children. He was a family man and thought the world of his grandchildren. He enjoyed attending sporting events for his grandchildren, hosting family events, and spending time outdoors, doing whatever his grandchildren wanted to do. Robert was also a world traveler and visited many different countries over the years.

Robert is survived by his significant other, Rena Gursky of Johnston City; five children, Megan Dillon, Blake Morgan, Kirsten Gursky, Chance Dillon, and Kourtney Dillon; nine grandchildren, Dominic, Draiden, Kaiden, Maveric, Nora, Cade, Abel, Axel, and Liam; three brothers; special nephew, Cody Dillon and friend, Mary Lou Grimes; two beloved dogs, Emmie and Gracie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

He is preceded in death by his son, Robert "Shorty" Dillon, parents, Clint and Murl Crabtree Sr.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Pyle Funeral Home of Johnston City was entrusted with the arrangements.
