Robert Dennis DiMarco

Robert Dennis DiMarco, 72, of Howell, affectionately known as "Bobby or Bobby D" to all who knew and loved him, Dad to his girls, and Pop-Pop to his grandkids, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. He was born June 26, 1952, in Evanston, Illinois. Bobby grew up in Neptune, NJ and graduated from Neptune High School. He went on to obtain a BA in Criminal Justice at Glassboro State College. He enjoyed a long career at Pepsi and the Asbury Park Press.
Bobby was an avid fan of all sports, and he might have bet on a game or two! He was quite an athlete himself growing up. He loved hanging out at the Legion with his friends, playing shuffleboard and darts. In the summers he enjoyed going to the beach, betting on the horses, and floating in his daughter's pool with a beverage. The number one thing Bobby loved to do more than anything was be with his family and friends.
If you knew Bobby, you knew that you couldn't go anywhere in Neptune or most of Monmouth County without him knowing at least one person in every establishment he entered. He was loved beyond means and will always be remembered by the ones who loved him for his not so funny sense of humor and the love he had for his "people."
He was preceded in death by his sister Diane Cochran, his brother Anthony DiMarco, and his father Anthony Joseph DiMarco.
He was survived by his mother Rose DiMarco (Hagedorn), his sister Donna DiMarco, his daughter's Mary Pat Gallotta (DiMarco) & Margaret DiMarco & his son-in-law to be, Erik Merkerson, and his prized possessions, his grand-kiddos, Olivia, Remi, Francesco, and Raina.
Bobby's celebration of Life will be held Saturday June 28, 2025, from 12pm-4pm at Ely Funeral Home, located at 3316 Hwy. 33, Neptune, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that plants be sent or donations be made to the American Legion Post #346.
Daddy/Pop-Pop/Bobby D, you will be missed immensely.
