Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home - Ponchatoula on Nov. 26, 2022.
Bobby Dougherty, age 61, passed away on Friday, November 25th, 2022. He was a resident of Ponchatoula, LA. He worked in the oilfield industry for over 40 years. Bobby took pride in his work, and could be described as honest, dependable, and committed to his fellow coworkers. Bobby was a generous man who enjoyed caring for the people close to him. He never wanted anything for himself, but he derived great joy from giving gifts to others. Bobby adored his wife, Marla, to whom he was married for 31 years. He was immensely proud of all of his children and loved them deeply. Throughout his life, he had a number of interesting hobbies including: hunting deer, skydiving, fishing, making sausage, collecting silver, throwing boomerangs, making fireworks, and canoeing. Bobby will be forever missed.
He is survived by his wife, Marla Dougherty; sons, Logan Dougherty (Taylor), Benjamin Dougherty, Ryan Dougherty; daughter, Rachel Dougherty (Rage Broussard II); sister, Cindy Woody (Dennis), and grandchildren, Michael Broussard, Mason Broussard, and Rage Broussard III.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Yvonne Dougherty; and sisters, Sandra Berryman and Nancy Dougherty.

I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to work with Bobby. He would always ask me how my family and I were doing, a practice that seems to have been lost nowadays. Though we came from different backgrounds, our lives and views resonated at times. These common views helped us to work as a team through some of the biggest challenges our industry has ever faced. And through it all, he was consistent with his presence and performance. Well done, Bobby.

To Marla, thank you for sharing him with us all these years. I am honored and grateful for having known him.
