It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our cherished dad, Pap, brother, and friend. Robert Alan Dovicsak passed away at his home, May 20, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on June 14, 1950. He is now reunited with his parents, James and Doris (Fairbough) Dovicsak; his wife, Judith Dovicsak; son, William Dovicsak; and twin brother, Richard Dovicsak.
Robert was a Non-Destructive Testing Radiographer, and was the owner of Industrial Inspections, as well as being employed with ITT Grinnell, Glitch Field Services, and US Metals.
Robert’s actions spoke volumes of the man he was. Most importantly was the love he had for his family. He was a proud father and grandfather, treated his son-in-law and daughter-in-law as if they were his own children, and would always send text messages checking on everyone. He was always supportive of his children and grandchildren in their careers, family life, school, and sports. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bearcats, and Ohio State Buckeyes; as well as being a huge fan of the Akron Zips Basketball team. He never missed a game, whether it was watching one in person, on TV, or even listening to a game on the radio.
He was quite a dog lover. Benny, his English Bulldog, has been his loyal companion for many years and survives Robert. He held a special place in his heart for his other dogs who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge; Missy, Sissy, and especially Bronson.
He and his wife, Judith, shared a lifetime of love. They were childhood sweethearts and married for 52 years. They always knew the importance of not only being husband and wife but also being friends. Most of all, they put God in the center of their marriage, leading their journey.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Eric) Agosti of Akron; son, Robert (Kristen) Dovicsak, Jr. of North Canton; grandchildren, Robert III, Alicia, Allison, Ashley, and Sophia; sisters, Deborah Cunningham (Kim) and Doris Taylor; and brother, James Dovicsak.
Family and friends are invited for visitation on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, Uniontown. Robert’s service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Father Simon Mino will preside. Interment will follow at Greentown Cemetery.
