Geraldine M. Bennett, age 89, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. Born on September 16, 1936 in Iron River, Michigan, her life was defined by kindness, patience, and a quiet strength that lifted those around her.
Family was the heart of everything she did. Whether she was offering a listening ear, sharing a home cooked meal, or stitching together a handmade gift, she poured love into every moment. As a talented seamstress, she spent many years creating clothing and keepsakes that became treasured parts of her family’s story. Her hands were always busy, but her heart was always open
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Nidy; son, Michael Bennett; grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew (Jennifer), and Brittany Nidy; great-grandchildren, Jedediah and Samuel Nidy, all of whom will forever carry her love and the lessons she shared generously. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Bennett and parents, Anton and Doris (Beauchamp) Bellantonio
Her family will honor her wishes with a private interment ceremony.
A special thank you to Gentlebrook - The Homestead staff for their loving care and kindness for our parents over the last few years.
Her legacy lives on in every stitch she sewed, every life she touched, and every memory shared by those who loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Arrangements were entrusted with Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, and the family is grateful for their care and guidance during this tender time. Her family invites all who knew her to join in remembering a life lived with grace and devotion at: www.heckerpatronfuneralhome.com
