Robert Douglas Dumas was born November 24, 1935, to the late Codel Dumas and Louis V. Moss, Sr., in Mayfield, Kentucky. He was called to eternal rest on October 13, 2024.
He loved going to church and accepted Christ at an early age in the Presbyterian church. He was a long-time member and deacon at Trinity New Hope Christian Church and a current member at New Visions Ministries. Robert retired from Easterday Lumber Company. He truly enjoyed riding his scooter, sitting on the porch chatting with people, and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his stepfather, Homer Thomas: first wife, Margaret Dumas; second wife, Gertrude Dumas; two brothers, Louis Moss, Jr., and Charles E. Moss; three sisters, Shirley Edwards, Louise Moss, and Racine Owens.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Robert Dumas, Mayfield; two step-daughters, Mabel Lovelace, & Laura McKiver, Mayfield; two step sons, Lee Lovelace, Mayfield, & Frankie Wilson, Washington; two sisters, Mabel Brooks and Ethelene Carman, both of Mayfield; five grandchildren, thirteen great-grand children; and one great-great grandchild; the England family; special friend, Mabel Kay Duffy, and a host of other relatives and friend.
