Robert E. Durham, age 81, of Tick Ridge Road in Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 4, 2025, at his daughter's home. Born Thursday, May 6, 1943, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William & Verda Mae Popplewell Durham. Robert was the widower of the late Patricia Ann Chumbley Durham, whom he married Saturday, May 18, 1968, and preceded him in death Wednesday, April 8, 2009. Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran, who served during Vietnam. Robert retired from Gulf States in Nicholasville, Kentucky, and also was a Bus Driver for the Lincoln County Public Schools, for many years. Robert enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, farming, watching TV, and reading the newspaper. He was a member of Waynesburg Church of Christ.
Robert leaves behind one daughter, Tina Michelle Davidson (Shane) of Waynesburg; one daughter-in-law, Lori Durham of Lexington, Kentucky; five grandchildren, LaShawna Bailey, Cassandra Davidson, Evan Durham, Lincoln Durham, and Aleah Durham; two great-grandchildren, Eli Mayfield and Brylee Acton; and several extended family members and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his wife and parents, Robert was preceded in death by one son, Brian Keith Durham; one brother, Marion William Durham; and two sisters, Gweneva Smallwood and Jacqueline Durham Foley.
A Public Visitation will be held 9:30AM-11:30AM Friday, January 10, 2025, at Fox & Friend Funeral Home.
A Public Funeral Service will be held 11:30AM Friday, at the funeral home. Bro. Curt Herrington will officiate the service. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Robert's memorial page of the funeral home's website.
Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
