Robert "Rob" Alan Edgar, age 65, of O'Fallon, Ill., was born January 24, 1957, and passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
After graduating from Belleville Township High School West in 1975, Rob was proud to serve in the United States Air Force, and retired as Master Sergeant. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in O'Fallon, where he was involved in various activities and ministries. After his Air Force retirement, Rob received his Bachelor of Science Degree Cum Laude from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill. He taught several semesters in Electronics at SWIC, and had worked for the former Jet Aviation. He was currently employed with Boeing as an Avionics Technician, and was a life member of American Legion Post 137 in O'Fallon, Illinois. Rob enjoyed photography and travelling with his wife Sue; he was fun and full of life and his smiling face will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Oliver "Ollie" Edgar; grandparents Ferman (Helena) Herold, Orville Sloan (Minnie) Edgar; aunt and uncles Frederick "Orville" (Ilse) Edgar, Donald "James" Edgar, Norbert Paul Edgar, and Randy Shaw.
Surviving are his wife of 10 years, Sue Edgar; mother Barbara Edgar, brother Keith Aaron (Kitty Jo) Edgar, aunts Carolyn (Robert) Morrissey, Rebecca Edgar (wife of the late Donald "James" Edgar), and many cousins and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse, 99.1 JOY FM, or Nine PBS.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon, Ill.
Funeral Service: 1 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church, 520 East Highway 50, O'Fallon, Ill., with Rev. Candice Wassell officiating. A reception will follow at the church.
