Published by Legacy on Mar. 14, 2025.
Robert Alan Edwards, age 67 of Clermont, GA passed away on March 10th, 2025, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton with his loving wife by his side.
Robert was born in Rome, GA on March 27, 1957, son of the late Uldrick Edwards Sr. and his wife Mary Lou Richbourg Edwards.
He graduated from the University of Georgia March 22, 1980, with a Bachelor of Business Administration eventually spending his career as a recruiter and later retiring from the corporate recruiting firm he founded, Greyhorse Search Consultants.
Robert loved animals and had many pets over the years including horses, dogs, cats, and even ducks.
He enjoyed sailing and snow skiing. He was a dedicated and passionate foxhunter and member of Shakerag Hounds since 1984.
On November 7, 1998, Robert married Stacey Montgomery, at Shakerag Hounds hunt club, Hull, GA. They met through mutual friends, fell in love, and married within a year of meeting.
Because of their shared love of horses, they married on horseback with Robert wearing traditional foxhunting attire, and Stacey wearing a hunter green sidesaddle habit.
Robert was extremely knowledgeable about building and repairing things. He built his previous home and stable in Dawsonville, GA and was able to fix nearly anything. Robert loved people and everyone that knew Robert expressed how kind he was.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his eldest brother James Henry Edwards.
Remaining to cherish Robert's memory are his wife, Stacey Edwards, his brother Uldrick "Lum" Edwards, and his nephews Steven and Matthew.
With Shakerag Hounds holding such a special place in his heart, it is only fitting to honor Robert with a Memorial Service at the hunt club on June 14, 2025 beginning at 11:00 am with a reception immediately following.
Shakerag Hounds is located at 3898 Neese Commerce Road Hull, GA 30646.
