It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert "Rob" Edwards, a devoted husband, brother, and friend, who passed from this world on January 31, 2026, at the age of 69. Rob was born in 1956 to Robert and Joyce Edwards.
Rob attended high school in the Midwest and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Management at a local university. After moving to Oregon, he went on to dedicate 32 years of his life to the State of Oregon. He worked for the Department of Revenue and later retired from the Employment Department as a Tax Manager. Through work on legislation representing the Employment Department, Rob advocated for best practices of employers and fair treatment of those they employ.
Rob married his high school sweetheart, June, on August 9, 1975. Their bond endured with the power of love and the gift of friendship. They shared a life filled with travel, laughter and joy. His very nature made him a cherished husband and a constant friend.
Rob had an unmistakably dry sense of humor that could capture anyone he met. Rob enjoyed reading SF books and watching SF and film noir movies.
He is survived by his wife, June, and his brother, Derek, who will carry forward his memory and all that made up his extraordinary life. The legacy of love and kindness he leaves behind will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Marion Polk Food Share or the Oregon Humane Society - Salem Campus, as Rob believed in giving back to the community he loved. There will be no service.
Rob's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and we take comfort in knowing that his love and laughter will resonate with us for years to come. Rest in peace, dear Rob; you will be missed.
