Robert William "Bob" Eichelsdorfer, born on December 22, 1945, in Erie, PA, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024, at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, NC. He was 78 years old.
Bob dedicated his professional life to the industrial fastener industry, working as a salesman with Bowman Distribution and Tyson Bolt & Nut in Tampa, FL. His career was marked by his commitment to excellence and his ability to forge lasting relationships with colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bob's greatest joy was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his beloved wife of 54 years, Shirley Renwick Eichelsdorfer, who preceded him in death. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Scott Eichelsdorfer of Arlington, VA, and Lynnette Harmon of Lake Lure, NC. Bob was also a devoted grandfather to Tyler Harmon of Easley, SC, and Joshua Harmon of Greenville, SC.
Bob had a passion for woodworking, NASCAR, and beach music, particularly the tunes of Jimmy Buffett. His love for music led him to become a founding member of the Tampa Bay Parrot Head Club, where he shared his enthusiasm with fellow fans.
A proud veteran, Bob served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in New York City. He was also a man of faith, belonging to the Catholic Church.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Charlotte Thomas Eichelsdorfer, and his brothers, David and Gary Eichelsdorfer. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind many friends and extended family members who will miss his warmth, humor, and unwavering kindness.
Bob's life journey took him from his birthplace in Erie, PA, where he resided until 1994, to Tampa, FL, where he lived from 1994 to 2023, before finally settling in Hendersonville, NC.
In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned. Bob's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
