Robert Terry Ellington passed away at his home in Carmack, MS, on Monday, November 18, 2024. A service celebrating his life will be Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM, at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Meggs officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Culpepper Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko.
Robert Terry Ellington was born in Kosciusko, MS on December 26, 1953, to Robert Ellington and the late Shirley Lowe. He was the oldest of three children. He is predeceased by his mothers, Evelyn Ellington and Shirley Lowe, stepson Tony Crosby, and nephew Dylan Ellington.
Terry was a retired railroad worker, having devoted 30 plus years to the career he loved. The friendships he made during that time endured for the rest of his life. He enjoyed playing golf and traveling with his wife, father, and brother. In August of this year, he had the opportunity to take a trip to Canada where he was able to witness the beauty of the lakes in Sioux Narrows, Ontario.
Terry cared deeply for his family. His wife, Betty Ellington; children, son Robert Ellington (Adria), daughters Brandi Burdine (Duane), Amanda Hathcock (Chad), and Brittany Chunn (Shannon); his father Robert William Elllington; grandchildren Samuel, Thomas, Sebastian, Sam, Max, Brittan, Colton, Jessa, Blakely, Cros, Logan, and Price; sister Sandra Howard (Larry) and brother Tommy Ellington (Jennifer); niece Tara and nephews Clint and Taylor. Terry was blessed by great-grandchildren Jaidan, Elli, Eli, and Jordyn Grace as well! The children loved spending time with their "Papaw Beard."
