Robert "Bob" Ellis

Robert "Bob" L. Ellis, age 78, of Ollie, Iowa, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026,

at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He was born on August 7, 1947, in

Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Margaret (Reiner) Ellis. Bob first attended Ollie

Schools before transferring to Pekin High School and graduating with the first ever four-

year class in 1965. After high school, Bob served his country for 2 years in the National

Guard. On August 7, 1970, he was united in marriage to Judy Conger at the Ollie

Methodist Church. To this union three children were born, Tammi, Jeff and Sherry. Bob

and Judy were married for over 52 years before her passing on November 26, 2022.

Bob worked for Fairfield Aluminum and Casting company for 44 years until his

retirement. While working, he also did some farming on the side. He enjoyed fishing,

being outdoors, hunting (especially hunting squirrels), and attending the Iowa State Fair.

He is survived by his children, Tammi Ellis of Ollie, Jeff Ellis of Ollie; a brother, Larry

(Patty) Ellis; his grandchildren, Jenna Reid and Jake Reid and many nieces and

nephews. He is also survived by a son-in-law, Sean Reid.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; a daughter, Sherry Reid; a grandchild,

Landon Ellis and a sister, Carla Ellis.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Prairie

View Church near Ollie with Pastor Danny Cary officiating. Burial will follow services at

Van Orsdall Cemetery near Ollie. The Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of

arrangements. Visitation will be held prior to services on Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m.

until 1:00 p.m. at Prairie View Church with Bobs family present to greet relatives and

friends. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
