Robert "Elmer" Graf , 87, of Memphis, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024, with his family at his side. Elmer's true passion was farming. Throughout his life, he was a contributing member of Dairy Farmers of America, National Farmers Organization, and Soil and Water Conservation. Elmer was a man of faith, and took great pride in his church, St. John Paul II Catholic Church. Elmer loved spending time with his wife and family, whether that be going on bus tours or attending church picnics.
He was born on June 12, 1937 in Sellersburg, Indiana to Albert and Dorothy (Kleehamer) Graf. He is preceded in death by his father, Albert Graf, mother, Dorothy Graf McDaniel, two sisters, Martha Rake and Sister Mary Mark Graf, and five brothers, Mark "Bud" Graf, Jim Graf, Ralph Graf, Dennis Graf, and Alvin Graf.
Elmer is survived by his loving wife, Jane Marie Graf, daughter, Laura (Mike) DeLise, daughter, Susan (Keith ) Lazarus, daughter, Barbara (Darren) Anderson, son, Tim (Andrea) Graf, daughter, Julie (Robert) Robinson, son, Greg (Tessa) Graf, daughter, Mary Lou Graf, son, Chris Graf, grandchildren, Nicole DeLise, Olivia DeLise, Isabella Anderson, Sofie Anderson, Eli Graf, Isaiah Graf, Adrianna Graf, Emerson Graf, Jacob Robinson, Joseph Robinson, Paige Robinson, Lilly Graf, Charlie Graf, Katie Graf, Henry Graf, two brothers, Cletus and Larry Graf, two sisters, Alice and Sister Dorothy Graf, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Graf family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Maple Manor Christian Home for the wonderful care they have provided for Elmer and his family.
Visitation will be from 12:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany, (3309 Ballard Lane) and Monday, August 19, 2024 from 10:00am to 12:00pm. His Funeral Service will be at 1:00pm on Monday, August 19, 2024 at St. John Paul II with burial to follow at St. Joseph Hill Catholic Cemetery.
The family requests that contributions in Elmer ’s memory be made to St. John Paul II or Crusade for Children.
