Robert Emrich Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home - Midwest City on Oct. 25, 2021.
Robert "Bob" Emrich, 77, of Oklahoma City went to his heavenly home, surrounded by family on October 23, 2021. Born July 29, 1944, to Harold A. Emrich and Neva Turner Emrich in Duncan, Oklahoma. He then moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma, at the age of 12 with his three siblings. At a young age Bob dedicated his life to Christ and lived in faith.
Bob married his wife, Carol Bond, on July 3, 1964. Bob loved Carol since he was a young man and she was the benefactor of the fullest extent of his unconditional love for 57 years. They had two children, Teresa and Bobby, and eventually ending up with 8 grandchildren. Early in their marriage Bob worked two jobs for 7 years, 7 days a week, 70 hours a week to support his young family. Bob started working for Oklahoma Gas & Electric in 1965 and retired as a supervisor. He later returned as a contractor dedicating a total of 44 years.
He constantly offered support to his family because he had the heart of a servant. Bob enjoyed playing cards such as spades and hearts with his grandchildren and family. He was the master of card games! Many summers were spent at their Arbuckle lake house, enjoying the grandkids. He also liked fishing, taking care of his yard and going to the horse racing tracks.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ann Thompson; brother-in-law, Allen Butler; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lyn and Betty Bond.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Emrich of the home; daughter, Teresa (Tim) Tarrant; son, Bobby (Felicia) Emrich and grandchildren; Jonathan Sikes, Laura Sikes, Colton Tarrant, Stephen Emrich, Zach Emrich, Natalie Emrich, Silas Emrich, and Emily Emrich, with one great grandson due in the spring. Additionally, brother, Mike Emrich; sister, Lynn Butler, and brother-in-law, Doug Thompson.
Viewing will be October 26th from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm and October 27th from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home. Services will be held at Choctaw Road Baptist Church in Choctaw Oklahoma at 1:30 pm, Thursday, October 28, 2021, with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Choctaw, Oklahoma.
