Robert Fabry Obituary

Visit the Newcomer Funeral Home - West Metro Chapel website to view the full obituary.

Robert "Bob" Fabry, a beloved figure to all who knew him, was born on April 9, 1947, in Denver, Colorado, and passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on February 27, 2026 in Fort Morgan, Colorado. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and a profound sense of community that will be cherished by his family and friends for generations to come.

Bob met the love of his life, Janice in 1967 and they were married the next year.  Together they shared 47 years of marriage.  Bob dedicated the entirety of his career to Xcel Energy, where he worked diligently, ultimately retiring in 2006 as a Lineman. His dedication to service extended beyond his profession; he took great pride in being part of special crews that restored power during storms and natural disasters. This commitment to helping others reflected his kind-hearted nature and strong faith.

An Arvada West High School graduate from the Class of 1965, Bob felt firmly rooted in his community. He served diligently in the Army Reserves from 1966 until 1972, a testament to his dedication and servitude.

Family was at the heart of Bob's life. He is survived by his loving children, Lisa Williams and Jason Fabry (Theresa), whose lives he enriched with unwavering support. The joys of fatherhood blossomed into a proud grandparenting journey with his grandchildren, Nichelle Clary and Cameron Fabry, and great-grandchildren, William, Maddie, and Rylan. Bob's dedication to his family manifested in many ways, particularly in the precious moments spent riding horses with his granddaughter, Nichelle, and supporting her activities as members of the Ponies of America Horse Club and 4-H.  He was also proud of his grandson Cameron's career as an EMT and Firefighter.

Bob's hobbies were a reflection of his vibrant personality. An outgoing and fun-loving individual, he had a good sense of humor and was always ready to create joyful memories. The Fabry family belonged to a camping club during the childhood years of Lisa and Jason, where Bob would delight everyone with his funny skits alongside other members. These cherished memories, rich with laughter and joy, are stories that will continue to echo through the hearts of his children. Earlier in life he also enjoyed an active church life, including participating in melodramas that brought smiles to the faces of many.

Bob's life was also intertwined with his love for cars, where he shared a lifelong passion for speed and the thrill of the open road. He lovingly restored a 1965 Dodge Coronet with Jason and later in life he proudly showcased his two hot rods at various car shows. He was especially proud of his 1940 Ford that had belonged to his Uncle George and also had a 1927 Ford Bucket T. His involvement in the local car club community provided him with boundless opportunities to connect with others who shared his interests.

He is remembered fondly by his sister, Diane Morgan (Stan), brother-in-law, Brad Reiter, and several nieces and nephews who admired his zest for life and his ability to make friends wherever he went.

Bob's warmth and kindness will forever resonate within the hearts of those who loved him. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice Fabry, daughter, Jennifer Fabry, and his dear parents, Lorraine and Joe Fabry, along with sister-in-law, Diane Reiter. Their memories will be honored and cherished amidst those he leaves behind.

In celebration of Bob's life, a visitation will take place on March 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Metro, located at 901 S Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO. A gathering for family and friends will extend until 1:00 PM.

Bob's spirit will live on in the laughter shared with friends, the memories cherished with family, and the countless lives he touched throughout his journey.
