Robert Farrior Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tyndall Funeral Home - Mount Olive on Dec. 15, 2025.
Bobby Farrior, 82, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully early Saturday morning at the home he and his beloved wife, Linda, lovingly created in the Calypso community of Mount Olive. He is survived by his wife, Linda; their children, Tammy Bishop and her husband, Patrick, of West Virginia; Eddie Carr of West Virginia; and Arthur Carr and his wife, Kristen, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Bobby is also survived by seven grandchildren, Danielle, Ryan, Shyann, Bryce, Isabella, Sophia, and William; and five great-grandchildren, Natalie, Darian, Santanna, Aubrey, and one on the way; and his cousins, Ann, Barbara, Peggy, Frank, Jimmy, Sarah Alice, Wade, and Kay.
Bobby was the son of the late Robert Jefferson Farrior, II, and Ruth Albritton. He was the brother of the late Frances F. Cook, and brother-in-law to Oliver "Mac" Cook of Mount Olive.
A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday evening, December 17, at six o'clock in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by his cousin, the Rev. William Rose. The family will receive friends following the service, as well as at other times at the Farrior residence in Calypso.
Bobby was a simple man who understood the value of a hard day's work. A native of Duplin County, he began his career as a public-school teacher, where he taught for many years before leaving the school system to pursue his true passion, farming. He was well known for his collards, growing some of the prettiest and largest around. He even partnered with Piggly Wiggly to provide his collards to the community on a larger scale. Bobby trusted his neighbors to browse his fields, select the perfect collard, and leave their payment in his drop box. He spent many mornings at the Calypso Round Table, where he enjoyed coffee, fellowship, and time with close friends, sharing stories, laughter, and keeping up with the news of the community.
Bobby worshipped at Calypso Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made there in his memory.
