Pawtucket - Robert E. Feld, Sr., 82, of Pawtucket, died Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late R. Joyce (Bell) Feld.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Ernest Feld and Ruth (Doyle) Hull, he had lived in Pawtucket for most of his life.
Mr. Feld worked in the shipping department for Fram Corporation and for Red Farm Studio as a plant manager before retiring in 1990.
Bob was an avid bowler, bowling in leagues at East Providence Lanes, where he bowled several perfect games. He received many championship trophies. He played in softball leagues with the First and Last Chance Tavern, and Pleasant Street Lounge, Pawtucket and was a fantastic pitcher. Bob was a former member of the J.K. Club and an enthusiastic New England sports fan. He enjoyed many activities at Cherry Hill Manor with his friend Anna and his best friend and roommate Vinny. He enjoyed creating art work and giving it to his family and friends and displaying it on the walls at Cherry Hill.
Bob cherished his visits with his great granddaughter Greylynn, daughter Susan, son Rob, grandson Matthew, Vinny's granddaughter Ameila whom he considered his granddaughter, and his nieces Gayle and Sharon. He loved and adored his great granddaughter Greylynn. They were inseparable when they were together. He loved his children's friends as if they were his own. They affectionately called him Dad Feld, pops and big daddy. He loved his cousins. They all hold a special place in his heart. Before he passed he told his family he loved them and he was going to see Pepper (the beloved family dog that passed away many years ago).
Bob's son and daughter are thankful for the favorite staff on the third floor of Cherry Hill Manor. They are especially grateful for the RICU at Rhode Island Hospital, especially Lauren, his nurse, who was so kind and compassionate to him until the very end. Susan and Robert are forever indebted to the family and friends who visited, called and facetimed with Bob in his last hours in the hospital especially Jason Feld, Brandon Feld, Matthew Findesen and Judith and Scott Lorman. They are forever grateful to Lori Bilodeau and Ameila Davis for being at the hospital when he took his final breath and the prayer Lori spoke.
He is survived by one daughter, Susan J. Findesen and her late husband Robert, of Bridgewater, Massachusetts; one son, Robert E. Feld, Jr. and his wife Cristine, of Pawtucket; four grandchildren, Brandon Feld, Matthew Findesen, Brianna Lopes and Brett Feld; one great granddaughter, Greylynn Feld; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ernest W. Feld.
His funeral will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 9:00 AM from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Requiem Eucharist at 10:00 AM in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 50 Park Place, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Pawtucket. Family and friends are invited, and may attend visiting hours on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
