Robert A. Fischer
Beloved husband of 57 years to Betty Lou (nee Goodpaster), cherished father of Jean Fischer, Patti Fischer, Sandy Hughes, and Mark (Cindy) Fischer, devoted grandfather of John Allen Taylor, Jay Taylor, Bethann Hughes, Tyler Hughes, his mini-me, Jeffrey Hughes, Dillon Fischer, and the loving great- grandfather of four great-granddaughters. He was a loving brother to Charlyn (Larry) Cornett, James Fischer, and Charles (Kay) Fischer.
Bob was a volunteer firefighter with the Silverton Fire Department and EMS for 20 years, retiring as Captain, and he also ran the Fireman's Fish Fry for 15 years from the Fireman's Lodge in the Village of Silverton, as well as worked all of the festivals. Along the way, he made many friends. Those friends will miss him terribly.
Bob passed away in his home surrounded by his family on July 26th at the age of 79, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
His family will receive friends on Saturday, July 30th from 12PM until the time of the Funeral Service, 2PM at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236). Interment will be held privately.
