ROBERT PRESTON FLETCHER

FLETCHER, Robert Preston, age 64, died April 12, 2013. He leaves two sons, R. Matthew Fletcher, and wife, Heather and Christopher P. Fletcher; two grandsons, Sawyer and Andrew Fletcher. He is survived by his mother, Sarah (Libbie) Fletcher; two brothers, Bradford D. Fletcher and Jeffrey E. Fletcher and wife, Karen; and former wife, Beverley Fletcher. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward P. Fletcher. Bob founded Fletcher's Paint and Body Shop in 1969, and was involved in the Virginia Auto Body Association, serving as president in the mid 1980s. In 1991, he began Fletcher's Construction Company, and remained active in Glen Allen Auto Sales until his death. He was an avid sportsman, who caught numerous citation blue cat fish and large mouth bass. He also enjoyed football, baseball, gardening and snow skiing. He was talented in woodworking, metal and stone sculpting. Bob had a heart for animals and anyone in need. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 15 at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Road, and where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 16. The interment is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hanover Humane Society, 12190 Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va. 23005.
