Bob was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served his country honorably as a submariner. His dedication to service was a testament to his character and commitment. In his personal life, Bob found joy in simple pleasures. He had a particular fondness for watching western movies and wrestling. Known for his playful nature, Bob was a jokester, with a twinkle in his eyes, whose humor was contagious. Above all, Bob cherished his family and maintained many strong, enduring friendships. His genuine warmth and kind spirit touched the lives of everyone he met, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Robby P. Fortier (Beth); sister, Mary Ann Baillageron; grandchildren, Alex and Ahna (Christian); great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Olivia; nieces, Kathy, Tammy, Donna, and Anne; and many other extended family members. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, Sonny Fortier and Sam Fortier.
A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Twiford Memorial Chapel, with Chaplain Kevin Reiver officiating. The family will greet family and friends immediately following the service in the chapel lobby. Bob's service will be live streamed on his obituary page.
