Robert A. Franklin

SPEIGLETOWN Robert A. Franklin, 85, of Fane Ct. passed away Monday April 21, 2025 at Van Rensselaer Manor. Born and educated in Troy he was the son of the late Alden and Mildred Martin Franklin.
Robert had been employed at Norlite in Cohoes for 35 years, retiring in 2004. Prior to that he was employed by Signal Trucking. He was a member and past commissioner of the Speigletown Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors include his wife Nancy Fletcher Franklin. The couple would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary next month. Also surviving are his children, Kelly Ann Knowles, Scott Franklin (Kim), Sandra Franklin and Kathleen Wagar (Gordon) all of Troy. He is the brother of Arthur Franklin (Jean) of Sand Lake, William Franklin of Vermont, the late Paul and John Franklin and Beverly Lanteing. He is the proud grandfather of Andrew Wagar, Kyle Franklin (Kaela), Rodney Branch and Christoper Franklin, Jen Cahill and Matt Knowles and great grandfather of Kiernan Franklin. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Relatives and friends may visit at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32) Waterford on Thursday from 4-7 pm. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
