Robert C. "Bob" Freiberger, age 89 went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 28, 2021. Bob was born on January 25, 1932 to George and Vergie Freiberger in Evansville, Indiana.

Bob graduated from Reitz High School, attended and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He loved Southern gospel music and served the Lord by singing in several gospel quartets with his beautiful tenor voice. Bob served 4 years in the United States Air Force and was stationed at the Alaska Air Force Base. Bob attended Tech School in Chicago to become an electronics technician. He used those skills for 20+ years for Risley's in Evansville. Bob could build anything and paid close attention to all the details to finish each project with perfection. But most importantly, Bob loved his family.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his son in law Toby Nelson and sister and brother in law Wanda and Bill Schumacher. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Virginia (Young) Freiberger, sons John (Terry) Freiberger, Michael Freiberger, Steve Underwood, and his daughter Becky Nelson. He was a grandfather to 7 grandkids and great-grandfather to 16.

A special thanks to Dr. William Smith and the staff at River Bend Health Facility for the care given to Bob during his illness.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 11am-1pm. Services will begin in the Chapel at Sunset Funeral Home at 1pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Grace Baptist Church Building Fund.
