LaSheila Marie Miskell-Frederick, a cherished soul and beacon of strength, passed away on January 20, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 14, 1956, to the late Charles and Helen Miskell, LaSheila's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and the love she shared with those around her. LaSheila's beautiful name, meaning strong spirit, came from France. Her Father, Charles, stationed there during WWII, heard a father call his daughter by that name. Charles loved the name so much he gave it to his second born daughter.
A graduate of Princeton Community High School in 1974, Sheila's dedication to her work was evident in her 28-year tenure as a production supervisor at AmeriQual foods. Her commitment to excellence was further demonstrated by her achievement of a Green Belt in Six Sigma, showcasing her passion for continuous improvement and leadership.
Sheila's life was enriched by her beloved family. She was the loving wife of 36 years to Monte Frederick, a partnership that stood as a pillar of mutual respect and adoration. As a devoted Mother to Amy Bennett (John), and Heather Petruso (Ed), she instilled values of kindness and resilience. Her role as Grammy to Kyle Bullington, Shawna Sink (Aaron) and Tyler Bullington was one of her greatest joys, and she cherished every moment with her great-grandchildren Samuel, Bentley, Madison, Oakleigh, Eva, Lindon, Ty, and Gene.
Her siblings held a special place in her heart, including Beatrice "Sissy" Walters (Dave), Charles "Rocky" Miskell, Michael Miskell (Angela), Tony Miskell, Stevie Miskell (Star), and Brian Miskell (Amanda). Sheila was preceded in death by her siblings Larry Miskell, Mark Miskell (JerriAnn), Linda Myers (Kirk), James "Doc" Miskell (Debbie) and Tracie Miskell. Her extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins all held a special place in her heart.
Sheila's interests were a reflection of her love for life and nature. She found solace in puzzles, crocheting, and tending to her garden, where she nurtured cacti and other flowers with the same care she gave to her relationships. Her family often pondered, "How do you describe the best person you have ever known?" The answer was always reflected in Sheila's selfless actions and the positive impact she had on everyone she met.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Linda White Hospice for their compassionate care during Sheila's final days. Her legacy of love, perseverance, and joy will continue to live on through the lives of those she touched. LaSheila Marie Miskell-Frederick will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will remain an everlasting presence in the hearts of her loved ones.
