Robert H. "Bob" Fritz, 78, of Wellsville, OH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 13,
2025 with his loving wife at his side. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1946, the son of the late James P. and Catherine Stenger Fritz.
He came from a family of 6 children who were raised on a farm in Imperial, PA. Bob attended West Allegheny High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1964. Upon
graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp, serving during the Vietnam War. He proudly served for 4 years achieving a rank of S/SGT E-6 and was honorably discharged in 1968. His
most memorable tour was serving as a bodyguard for the Admiral while in London, England. In 1969 after completing his military tour of duty, Bob obtained his Commercial Pilot and Flight
Instructors licenses. Flying became his passion. He purchased his own plane and continued flying as a recreational pilot for the next 50 years. He and his wife enjoyed many years of flying
together. In 1971, Bob decided to pursue a career in marketing and sales. He was employed by The
Prudential Insurance Co. for 8 years, receiving numerous achievement and recognition awards.To further his career, he resigned from Prudential in 1979 to open his own agency in Pittsburgh,
PA. In 1985, he moved his agency to Wellsville, Ohio. He successfully served the Tri-State area for 40 years before retiring in 2019. Bob was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where he was blessed with the loving kindness of his church family. Bob will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 29 years, Lauri Hergert Fritz, whom he married on January 13, 1996. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Fritz-Schulein and her husband Ken Schulein of Evanston, IL; his brother, Charles Fritz of Greentree, PA; his sister-in-law, Gloria Fritz of Mt. Lebanon, PA and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James and sister-in-law, Lolly Fritz; brother, David Fritz and sister, Judith Fritz.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church. The Rev. Eric Edwards of the church will be officiating. The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will provide full military honors. Friends may visit at the church one hour prior to the time of the service. A hot luncheon will be served at the church, immediately following the service.
