Robert A. Fritzen, 66, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away in his residence with his loving wife by his side on Thursday, June 13, 2024 after a courageous seven month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the loving husband of Christine E. (Wolfe) Fritzen. They were married on September 10, 1983 and celebrated forty years of marriage.
Born in Orange, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Edward L. and Mary Ann (Finley) Fritzen. He was a graduate of Columbia High School, Maplewood, NJ; and received a Bachelor's Degree from Seton Hall University. Bob was a Vice-President of Business Development for the Mid Atlantic Region for CellCarta; and taught a class with his dear friend Ann at the University of Maryland. Bob was an avid fan of the New York Mets, Dallas Cowboys, and Reading Fightin Phils. He was a member of SABR, Society for American Baseball Research. Bob was on the Board of Dogwood Place, serving as vice-president. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and vacationing at their beach house in Rehoboth. Bob was a wonderful husband and father. Family always came first.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Robert A. Fritzen, Jr., husband of Zandra (Lafond), Wells, Maine; and Danielle C. (Fritzen) Burkholder, wife of Matthew, Stevens; four grandchildren: Oliver Alfred Fritzen, Caleb Robert Burkholder, Mila Burkholder, and Ava Burkholder. He is also survived by his siblings: Edward L. Fritzen, husband of Michele, Waxhaw, NC; James M. Fritzen, Mt. Ephraim, NJ; Sr. Rita M. Fritzen, OSF, Baldwinsville, NY; Ann M. (Fritzen) Tetar, wife of John, Iselin, NJ; Jeannie M. Fritzen, Old Bridge, NJ; and Thomas H. Fritzen, husband of Colleen, Sayreville, NJ; several nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law: Martha E. (Stoudt) Bertolet, Muhlenberg Twp. Bob was predeceased by a sister: Pattie Fritzen. Bob will be missed by his special friends: Steve Arivo, Carol Berry, Dave Nardone and many loving friends and neighbors. He will also be missed by his faithful companion: Addie.
Bob's family would like to thank the McGlinn Cancer Center, Infusion Nursing Staff, Dr. John Travers, Bayada Hospice, his nurse Veronica Turner, and dear neighbor Flo Clemens for everything they did for him.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 5:00 pm. Please contact a member of the family for further information regarding the celebration of life. Those attending are asked to wear their favorite sports jersey, however upon Bob's request, there is to be no New York Giants apparel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to Chris Fritzen for Oliver and Caleb's college accounts and sent to Truist Bank, attn: Hannah, P.O. Box 738, Shillington, PA 19607.
