Robert "Bubba" Fruge, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on November 7 , 2024 at the age of 60. Born on May 18, 1964, in Beaumont, Texas, he was a lifelong resident of the area, leaving a profound impact on all who knew him.
Robert dedicated 25 years of his life to law enforcement serving with distinction at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department before retiring from Groves Police Department in 2012. Following his retirement, he continued to lend his expertise and work ethic as a process operator at Motiva. His unwavering commitment to his career reflected his desire to serve and protect his community, and he will be remembered for his steadfast dedication.
An outdoor enthusiast at heart, Bubba had a profound love for nature, often spending his time hunting and fishing. Whether on the open water or in the quiet of the woods, he found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. His passion for travel also led him to explore many wonderful places, creating cherished memories along the way.
Bubba was a man of deep faith and cherished his church family at Park Central Church of Christ, where he built lasting relationships rooted in love and community. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 40 years, Terri Fruge of Port Neches, who stood by his side through all of life’s adventures. Together, they nurtured a close-knit family that radiated warmth and love.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Terri Fruge of Port Neches, his son, Justin Brent Fruge and his wife, Anna, of Port Neches; his daughter, Brittany Lynelle Walden and her wife, Mandy, also of Port Neches; and his cherished grandchildren, Jude Alan Fruge and Brett Michael Fruge, who always brought a sparkle to his eyes. He is also survived by his sister, Laura Daniel of Hemphill.
Bubba was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Emily Noel, and his parents, Robert B. and Sylvia Sue Atwood Fruge. He is also reunited in spirit with his mother-in-law, Frinacie Horn, and his brother-in-laws, Sandy Daniel and Keith Woods.
A visitation in honor of Robert “Bubba” Fruge will be held on November 12, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Park Central Church of Christ located at 3901 Jimmy Johnson Boulevard, Port Arthur, TX 77642.
As we say goodbye to a man who loved and cherished his family above all else, we remember the laughter, the love, and the irreplaceable bond that will forever remain in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
