Robert Fusarini Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wolfe Funeral Home - Fort Mill on Sep. 5, 2024.
Robert Carl Fusarini, age 80, of Fort Mill and formerly of Summerville, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Lexington Community Hospice House - Agape Care in Lexington, SC.
The family is hosting a celebration of life that will be at 11 a.m. on September 14, 2024, at Bethany United Methodist Church, 118 W. 3rd S Street in Summerville, SC. The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service, starting at 10 a.m.
Born in Washington, DC, Robert was the son of the late Emil Carl Fusarini and Evelyn Cromwell Fusarini. He was a graduate of Tennessee Tech for both his bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as spending a few years serving our country in the U.S. Army, with honorable discharge as First Lieutenant. Bob was an employee of both DuPont and Northrop Grumman, both in Charleston, for many years before retirement. He enjoyed traveling, movies, playing games or cards, animals of all kinds, being a jokester, and great conversation. Bob was one-of-a-kind who truly never met a stranger. He was always the one seeking out people he didn't know, and would make little jokes or sweet comments to someone new to always try to get a smile out of them. He had such a zest for life in communicating with all people. Bob had a very active role at Bethany UMC, especially in helping and serving with the Friendship Circle Sunday School Class. He created such dear relationships with other members there, and introduced his wife, Toni, to the group as well.
Bob and Toni shared so much joy in traveling. They visited every continent except for Antarctica. They were such great companions for each other in that phase of their lives.
Surviving are his step-children, Molly (Gabriel) Planas and Megan Skidmore; his siblings, Donald Fusarini, Donna (Martin) Barrier and Thomas (Patti) Fusarini; his grandson, Miguel Planas; his nephews Martin and Mitchell Barrier and their families; his nieces Amber Ripley, Angela Crum, and Amanda Fusarini and their families; and 9 great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his late wife, Pauline (Toni) Skidmore.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 118 W. 3rd S Street, Summerville, SC, 29483.
