Victor Dion Kidd, 36, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, transitioned on December 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, purpose, and service that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.

Born on March 16, 1989, in Washington, D.C., to Vicki King and Carl “Maxx” Kidd, Victor was raised in District Heights, Maryland. It was there that his character began to take shape, grounded in family, faith, and a deep love for football. From high school through college, the game taught him discipline, teamwork, and leadership, values that became cornerstones of his life.

Victor was a proud graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Virginia State University and went on to Howard University, where he received a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work. It was during this season of growth and purpose that Victor met the love of his life, Nikole Donovan. Always driven to lead and to make a difference, Victor continued his academic journey at the University of South Carolina, where he made history as the first African American PhD graduate in the Sports and Entertainment Management program.

In 2021, Victor and Nikole were united in holy matrimony, building a life rooted in love, partnership, and faith. Their union was blessed with two beautiful children, Ari Simone in 2024 and Chancellor Lomax in 2025. Their home was also filled with laughter and companionship from their beloved fur babies, Kemba and Kobi.

Victor was known for his loving heart, infectious humor, unwavering faith, and tireless work ethic. He had a rare gift for connecting with people, never meeting a stranger and always making others feel seen, heard, and valued. He found joy in time spent with family and friends, and he delighted in sports, cigars, music, cooking, and collecting sneakers, glasses, art, and watches.

A healer at heart, Victor devoted his life to supporting the mental and emotional well-being of others. As a psychotherapist, he walked alongside countless individuals and athletes through life’s challenges with compassion, wisdom, and integrity. His passion centered on dismantling barriers to mental health care and expanding access to culturally competent, affirming support.

Victor’s work and advocacy reached far and wide. He collaborated with organizations including the National Basketball Association, Professional Referee Organization, Major League Soccer, Universal Music Group, Managed Health, and numerous NCAA institutions. He founded Kidd Wellness Solutions and Consulting, later renamed The Ari Center, LLC, and Apex Performance Group, each a testament to his commitment to healing, empowerment, and legacy.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Victor was deeply committed to serving his community through mentoring and coaching football, inspiring youth to strive for excellence. Victor was also a member of the Association of Social Workers in Sport, National Association of Black Social Workers, and Howard University School of Social Work Alumni Association.

Victor leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Nikole Kidd; his son, Chancellor Kidd; his mother, Vicki King; his brother, Samuel Spence; his sisters, Jacqueline McCoy, Yvette Kidd, Sabrina Kidd-Bedford, Joy Kidd, and Corie Kidd; along with his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, dear friends, and beloved fur babies, Kemba and Kobi. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Kidd, and his precious daughter, Ari Kidd.

Though his time on earth was far too short, Dr. Victor Dion Kidd’s impact was immeasurable. His love, light, and legacy will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know him.

A Life Remembered

Victor’s life was defined by purpose, love, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting others. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the barriers he broke, and the love he shared so freely.
