Robert Jacques Gagne

Robert "Bob" Jacques Gagné, 75, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away on August 4, 2025, with his wife Joyce by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob was born on July 3, 1949, in St. Georges de Beauce, Québec, Canada, to Gérard and Jacqueline (Bourque) Gagné. He grew up in Madison, Maine, graduating from Madison Memorial High School before attending American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, earning the Bronze Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a member of the American Legion and spent over 44 years self-employed in drywall construction.
He married Joyce Caldwell on September 2, 1972, in Madison, Maine, and together they shared nearly 53 years of marriage. The family started their lives in South Windsor, Connecticut, but moved to Calgary, AB, then Lower Sackville, NS, and finally back to South Windsor, before Bob and Joyce retired to Cape Coral, Florida.
Bob is survived by Joyce; son, Jason Gerard Gagné (Meghan) of East Hampton, CT; daughter, Aimee Edith Lopez of Fort Myers, FL; sisters, Renée Pederzani (Ronald) and Charlene Abbott (Randy); grandchildren, Joshua, Jenna, Lucas Gagné, and Roberto Lopez; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Susan Gagné; nephew, Michael Pederzani; and in-laws, George and Vivian Brochu.
Bob enjoyed spending time with Joyce in their forever home in Cape Coral where they enjoyed the outdoor living by the pool, playing cards, board games, and daily cribbage games. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
