Robert M. Gehan

Robert M. Gehan, 93, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at his home.
He was born in Holyoke, MA to the late Harold M. and Alice R. (Sullivan) Gehan. Robert served in the Navy during the Korean War. He then attended Syracuse University on the GI Bill. It was in Syracuse that he met and married his wife Diane ("the best decision I ever made"), and soon after they made Liverpool their home and raised their three children. He was the CEO of Environmental Hearing & Vision Consultants in Syracuse, NY and Co-Owner of Sonic Safety Services with Diane.
Robert was an avid golfer, and golfed into his nineties. He also followed SU football, basketball and lacrosse, and was a season ticket holder to their football and basketball programs.
Bob was active to the end. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends around the country. He was looking forward to taking an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. next month.
He is predeceased by his parents; his beloved wife of 60 years, Diane G. (Blanchard) Gehan; a brother, Edward and a sister, Mary and survived by a brother, Daniel.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his children: Tracy Leu of Sudbury, MA, Shaun Gehan of Washington, DC and Kyle Gehan of Randolph, NJ; his children by marriage: Jay, Nicole, Gina and Susan; his grandchildren: Michael, Zack, Quinn, Megan, Nicole and Arianna, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services with military honors will be Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11:00 am in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY.
