Bernard John Gehan, born on September 19, 1939 in New York City, passed away on March 2, 2026 in Littleton, CO. He is survived by Mary Ann (Norton), his wife of 60 years and by his brother Raymond Gehan (Jane).
Bernie was a proud father of Maggie Chavez (Brian), Moira (Bingo) Wilson (Jay), John Gehan and Eileen O’Brien (Tim). He is survived by his grandchildren Alexis Wilson, Brandon Wilson, Riley Gehan, William Chavez, Christine Chavez, Kellan Gehan and Liam O’Brien. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Alice Gehan, his daughter Christine Gehan and his sister Barbara Packwood.
Bernie was a graduate of Fordham School of Business and Fordham Law School and a member of the US Coast Guard. He was the Vice President of Labor Relations for NBC in New York, Chicago and Burbank for 41 years. He was passionate about his family, UCLA football, Colorado Rockies baseball and Creighton Basketball. He was a member of Light of The World Catholic Parish in Littleton, CO, where his funeral will be held on Monday, March 9 at 10:30 and buried at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in New York.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bernie’s honor to The Light of the World Food Pantry-Julia Greeley Outreach Center at 10306 West Bowles Avenue in Littleton, Colorado 80127.
