Robert (Bob) Gene Griese, 79, of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away on the night of 29th of January 2025. He was the son of the late Benjamin Edward Griese and Arlene Stalder Griese, and the wife of Rosalee Dorothy Griese for 53 ½ years.
Bob was born on the 27th of September 1945, in Evansville, Indiana. He attended school at Center and Harrison High School graduating in 1963, then pursued his career in the Navy and was honorably discharged for a medical injury. After discharge he attended the University of Evansville in Indiana where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He pursued his career in nuclear engineering as a civilian which brought him and his wife to Lynchburg, VA in 1974.
Bob enjoyed a good bargain, woodworking, home and car DIY, doing things his way, raising German Shepherds, and willing to lend his time & knowledge to anyone. These hobbies grew out of his younger hobbies of shooting pool, muscle cars, motorcycles, electronics & computers.
Bob is survived by his children Michelle Lynn Pollock(Malcom Swan) and Michael Jason Griese(Misti Griese); his grandchildren Cameron Stuart Pollock, Alyssa Danielle Pollock, Alexa Pearl Griese, Ava Nicole Griese, and Lucas Cash Griese; his sibling Linda Jo Seib(Jim Seib); and many loving friends in the community.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his brother Benjamin Edward Griese II; nephew Darrin Griese.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday February 4, 2025 at 11am at Saint Thomas Moore Church, 3015 Roundelay Rd, Lynchburg, VA 25402
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 12pm at Saint Thomas Moore Church with Father John Christian officiating with lunch following the service at the church for all in attendance.
