Robert "Bob" Germino, 90, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025, surrounded by his family. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Bob's greatest joy in life was his family. His legacy of charity, humility, and compassion will live on through them.
Bob was born on April 12, 1934, and was raised in Milford, NH with his younger brothers Carl and Phil, who were twins. After graduating from Milford High School, he went on to Boston University where he graduated with a degree in finance, followed by earning an MBA at Northeastern University. He met his wife Jean while working at Sylvania and they were married for 62 wonderful years. He was the proud father of Donna, Bill, Steve, Diane, and Debby and was steadfast in supporting their growing families: Donna Emery (husband Mark, deceased and daughter Leigha), Bill, (wife Liz and children Isabelle, Christina, David, and Robbie), Steve (wife Cheryl and children Joshua, Elizabeth, Annie) Diane Godding (children: Mikayla, Tyler) and Debby (partner Stephen).
Bob found immense joy in family traditions, especially the cherished summers spent at Lake Winnipesaukee, NH, where he loved reading by the water, taking boat rides, and enjoying his favorite lobster roll dinner. Whether gathered around the dinner table, engaged in lively conversation or watching spirited family volleyball games, Bob cherished time with his loved ones.
In his professional life, Bob was a respected businessman, serving as a Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer for various global corporations throughout his career. He dedicated the last 19 years of his professional life as a small business consultant and loan officer at Mass Growth Capital Corporation, helping entrepreneurs turn their dreams into reality. He also served on the North Reading School and Finance Committees during the early 1980s.
Bob will always be remembered for his peaceful demeanor and generosity of spirit. His quiet strength and unwavering compassion served as the steady voice of reason for his family and all who knew him. He appreciated life's simple pleasures: a Sunday dinner with family and friends, a good plate of spaghetti and meatballs, or learning about his grandchildren's newest activities and achievements.
Above all, family was foundational to his life and he made family his priority. Humble and soft-spoken by nature, he exhibited a curiosity in people and demonstrated caring to all he met. Family time was life's greatest treasure to Bob.
His presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will live on in the traditions, stories, and values he instilled in those who knew him and loved him.
Bob is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Theresa Germino (Milford, NH) and his younger brothers Carl Germino (Longmeadow, MA) and Phil Germino (Manchester, NH), who were twins.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Robert's life will be held at St. Theresa's Church 63 Winter St., North Reading on Friday February 21, 2025 at 11:30.
Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in North Reading.
