Ryan Germino Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Turlock Memorial Park & Funeral Home on Jan. 30, 2024.
Ryan Thomas Germino passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2024 at the age of 42. He was born on September 21, 1981 in Los Banos, California to Thomas and Cheryl. He was a resident of Modesto but also lived in Turlock, California; Delta, Utah; and Hawi, Hawaii over the years.

Ryan had a natural ability for building and constructing. He found jobs in almost every trade. The ones he hadn't already mastered, he was anxious to learn. He started with constructing steel buildings and moved on to roofing, custom cabinet making, tiling, door and window framing, siding, decking, fencing, and fountain /swimming pool construction. He loved working outdoors and getting dirty.

Ryan was what one might call a "thrill seeker." From a very young age he loved riding motorcycles and skateboarding, starting with his Go-ped (which he delivered newspapers on). Over the years, he enjoyed snowboarding, hiking, fishing, cliff diving, parachuting, rafting and kayaking, spear fishing, crossbow hunting, and flying on his Ultralight mosquito gyrocopter, and his paraglider. Ryan loved doing anything outdoors, especially extreme sports. He also loved and owned many pets including dogs, hamsters, a parakeet, cockatiel, iguana, turtle, a few snakes, a monitor lizard, chameleon, hedgehog, a ferret, and even a skunk.

Ryan was a fun and loving father, son, brother, and friend to many. Kids gravitated toward Ryan, making it very easy to connect to him probably because of his childlike spirit that made him a big kid at heart. He enjoyed spending time with them, and he became known as "Uncle Ryan" to more than his nieces and nephews but also to his friends' kids. His love for life and others will not be forgotten. He will be missed deeply by all who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Germino; his grandparents, Grannie (Marian Fletcher), Papa (Osward "Fletch" Fletcher); his cousins, Samuel Baker, Elizabeth Mohr.

Ryan leaves behind his daughters, Alize, Jessie, and Piper; his son, Ryan Anthony Germino; his mom and step-dad, Cheryl & Eric Plagenza; his sister, Amanda (Derek) Hibbs; his stepbrothers, Justin, Ryan, and Seth Plagenza, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service is being held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, CA 95380.

This is my dad Ryan Thomas Germino and he´s the reason why I had the best childhood he wasn´t as wealthy as the rest of my family, but he would do whatever he could to put a smile on our face, it doesn´t matter if it was taking us somewhere or buying us something he would always make fun out of it
