Obituary of Florante Germino

Florante Germino, born on July 16, 1955, in the Philippines, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, in Spotsylvania, Virginia, surrounded by his loving family.

Florante came to the United States about a year and a half ago and made the most of his time exploring and creating cherished memories with those he loved. He traveled across many states and even journeyed by car to Canada, where Toronto became one of his favorite destinations. There, he joyfully reunited with friends he had not seen in decades. Along the way, he found simple happiness in reading road signs during long interstate drives, appreciating every moment of the journey.

Though he was not fond of amusement parks, his deep love for his family, especially his son and beloved granddaughter, led him to visit Disney World, an experience he ultimately treasured. Florante enjoyed watching television and spending time on Facebook, where he followed bloggers who shared his passions for food, cooking, and travel.

Florante had a remarkable gift for nurturing life. He could grow anything he planted. Gardening and cooking brought him great joy, and he expressed his love through the meals he prepared and the care he gave to others. He also loved dancing and took immense pride in caring for his grandchildren, who brought light and laughter into his life.

Affectionately known as "Awo" by his grandchildren, Florante held a special place in their hearts. One of his granddaughters lovingly shared, "Awo is with Jesus," a reflection of the comfort and faith held by those who loved him.

Florante is survived by his devoted wife, Estrelita Mina Germino; his sons, Aaron Jasper Germino (Nikka) and Angelo Germino (Razel); and his cherished grandchildren, Karvin Paul, Kelsey Paula, and Atarah Ellerie. He also leaves behind a host of extended family members and close friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mariano Gedo Cruz Germino and Angelita Germino.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Agape Life Services, located at 2105 Emancipation Highway, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401.

Florante will be laid to rest in his homeland, the Philippines.

He will be remembered for his warmth, his love of family, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
